QUESTIONS FOR CABLE TO ANSWER OVER POST DELAYS

SNP MP for Dundee East Stewart Hosie today (Monday) raised a point of order calling on Ed Davey, the Postal Affairs Minister, to answer questions on the floor of the House of Commons about the severe delays many Royal Mail customers in the Dundee area are experiencing.

The MP’s actions follow several meetings with senior management over the situation – and more than 150 complaints from constituents throughout the constituency over mail problems in the DD4 and DD5 postcode area since late October.

Commenting, Stewart Hosie MP said: “Despite the best efforts of hard pressed Royal Mail workers, the back log has still not been cleared and vital mail is still stuck in the sorting office.

“The Business Secretary has serious questions to answer on the roll out of the Way Forward system and should appear in the House of Commons without delay.”
