The SNP group on Dundee City Council are to nominate veteran Lochee Councillor Bob Duncan for the post of Lord Provost when the new Council meets on 21 May.

The current Lord Provost, John Letford, who represented Lochee until the recent elections when he stepped down, has served the city as Provost for 11 years.

Commenting, Group Leader ken Guild said: “We will be nominating Bob Duncan for the post of Lord Provost. He’s very well-respected and wel-liked by everyone and I’m sure he will do a splendid job for Dundee.

“John Letford has served the city well and I’m sure that Bob will be every bit as good.”
