Stewart Hosie MP
Stewart Hosie is the Member of Parliament for Dundee East and is the Deputy Leader and Chief Whip of the SNP Group at Westminster. He also speaks for the party in the House of Commons on Finance and Treasury matters.
Stewart was elected in 2005 gaining the seat from Labour, having previously contested it in 2001. A highly experienced political campaigner, Stewart was the Party's National Secretary for four years then held office as the party's Organisation Convener.
Born in Dundee in 1963 Stewart was educated at Brackens PS, Invertay PS Monifieth, Carnoustie High School and Bell Street Tech, (now Abertay University) where he gained an HD in Computer Studies. Stewart worked in IT/IS for 20 years and ran his own business.
He is married to Shona Robison MSP, the Scottish Minister for Public Health. They have a daughter, Morag Louise, and live in the constituency.
